This photograph was taken at Botany Bay in South Carolina. This was my first visit to this state owned nature area. There was about a 100 yards of just solid sea shells on the beach. In subsequent visits, after hurricanes had hit the area, the beautiful collection of sea shells was washed away.
A Smooth Green Snake. I found this beautiful snake in the fall after all the leaves were off the trees. It was in central Texas. The bright green and yellow coloration contrasted against an out of focus background makes a stunning image.
This is a large Snapping Turtle that I found crossing a gravel road in southern Michigan. Moss can be seen growing on it's shell from spending most of it's life in the water.
